Terms of Service

Last updated: May 19, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Lowha browser ("Lowha," the "Software"), or by accessing our website at lowha.ai (the "Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Lowha or the Website.

2. Description of Service

Lowha is a Chromium-based web browser designed to provide a family-safe, privacy-respecting browsing experience. Its core function is to block adult content, gore, and associated advertising at the browser-engine level. Lowha also includes privacy features such as ad blocking, tracker blocking, and fingerprinting protection.

3. Eligibility

Lowha is intended for users of all ages. However, if you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have a parent or legal guardian's permission to use Lowha and agree to these Terms on your behalf.

4. License

Lowha is released under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 (MPL-2.0). You are free to use, modify, and distribute the Software in accordance with the terms of that license. The Lowha name, logo, and branding are trademarks of the Lowha Browser Project and may not be used without permission.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Lowha for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Attempt to bypass, disable, or circumvent Lowha's content-filtering protections
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software except as expressly permitted by applicable law
  • Distribute modified versions of Lowha that remove or weaken its content-filtering or privacy features
  • Use the Website to transmit malware, spam, or other harmful content

6. Content Filtering

Lowha blocks adult and gore content by default using automated classifiers and curated blocklists. While we strive for accuracy, no automated system is perfect. Lowha may occasionally block legitimate content (false positive) or fail to block inappropriate content (false negative). You acknowledge that:

  • The filtering is provided as-is, without warranty of perfect accuracy
  • We are not responsible for content that is incorrectly blocked or allowed
  • The filtering is a tool to assist safe browsing, not a guarantee of safety

7. Intellectual Property

The Lowha source code is licensed under MPL-2.0. All Lowha-original code, logos, graphics, and documentation are the intellectual property of the Lowha Browser Project. Chromium and other third-party components are subject to their respective licenses.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Software and Website are provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Lowha Browser Project does not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Lowha Browser Project and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Software or Website.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Lowha Browser Project, its contributors, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of Lowha or your violation of these Terms.

11. Third-Party Services

Lowha may include or interact with third-party services (websites, APIs, extension stores). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or functionality of any third-party services accessed through Lowha.

12. Automatic Updates

Lowha may automatically download and install updates to improve functionality, patch security vulnerabilities, and update content-filtering lists. By using Lowha, you consent to these automatic updates.

13. Donations and Payments

Donations made through the Website are processed via a third-party payment provider. Donations are voluntary and non-refundable unless otherwise required by law. Donations do not grant any ownership interest, additional rights, or special access to the Software.

14. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the Website or associated services for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Website ceases immediately. You may continue using the locally-installed Lowha browser software subject to its open-source license.

15. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of Lowha after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you disagree with the changes, you may stop using Lowha at any time.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of the United Kingdom.
